Boy: My best friend, Mike, is completely different from me. I’m a bit shy, but Mike is very sure of himself and always ready for an adventure. Some people are surprised that we’ve been friends for so long! This summer we’re going mountain biking together for a week. I’m looking forward to spending time with Mike. We might be different, but that’s what makes our friendship so strong. 

Girl: Let me tell you a funny story. One day, after PE, I picked up somebody else’s bag. I simply thought it was mine. When I opened it during the lunch break, I found sports shoes and a T-shirt in it that didn’t belong to me. A few minutes later, a tall girl with an identical bag came up to me, and I realized what had happened. We had a good laugh about it, and since then Sally and I have been best friends. 

Boy: My best friend, Jack, never lets me down. Once, I had a problem with my bike and I had no idea what to do, so I called Jack. He was on his way to a concert by one of his favourite local bands, but he immediately turned round and came over to fix my bike. Together, we make a great team: he repairs things for me, and when he is preparing a school presentation I always give him a hand. 

Girl: I love spending time with my best friend, Jane. We go to concerts and play football together. But we eat different food and watch different series on the Internet. I love holidays by the sea, she prefers the mountains. The funny thing is that when I see Jane, it’s like looking in a mirror – the same blue eyes and curly hair. Sometimes our teachers even mistake one of us for the other.
